Groove Summit V1 for Unify

This library has 5 distinct rhythm “Camps” that are perfectly fine being used on their own but the power of Unify is the ease of use of combining other Unify Patches with a simple mouse click – the SUMMIT’s 58 Patches show off what happens if you let these different camps play together!

So what are these camps and what is included in each one?

CAMP ONE: Heartbeat Loops. There are 75 loops that are mostly electronic in nature and are very quirky, unique and very fun in spirit. These were created by Henrik j Larsen, a voicing specialist with the ESC team (the ESC is the European Sound Collective and we sell a number of their libraries for Omnisphere 2 at the website.) He created a library for Omnisphere 2 called Heartbeats where these loops were played back using Omnisphere 2’s Granular Engine – the fidelity was not the same as the original audio files and I talked to the ESC and have licensed these drum loops to be in this library. I have recycled all of the loops so that they are able to be tempo sync’d and suffer no audio loss if you slow down or speed up the tempo.

CAMP TWO: Skip’s Breakbeat Loops. There are 40 Breakbeat loops that I had a lot of fun putting together. I created a bunch of drum samples and created 40 new MIDI File grooves from playing the 60 samples. These are more steady groove oriented in comparison to the fun quirky nature of Camp One so they work really well together.

CAMP Three: Acoustic Drum Kit Loops. I spent a great deal of time sampling a variety of snare drums, hihats, numerous cymbals, 3 tom toms and when I loaded everything up, I was able to create 7 different Acoustic Drum Kits. There are 200 Drum Grooves (both full kit and individual instruments) in the camp. Each drum kit has at least 10 drum grooves I programmed. Because of recording these in my carpeted dining room that is my work studio, the sound is very distinct and unique!

CAMP Four: Synth Drum Loops. I created a TON of synth drum samples using some unique DSP drum creation plug-ins and organized them into 53 different Synth Drum kits found down in the DRUM KIT section of the library. In Camp 4 I created a special kind of Patch where on Macro Knob page 4, there are knobs assigned to choosing between all of the Kicks/Snares and HiHat (open and closed) samples used for the various MIDI grooves. Spin the knobs and either change MIDI Grooves or hit the “B” on the top MIDIBox so you can program your own grooves using these unique Patches (these Patches are NOT found down in the DRUM KIT area of the Library so don’t miss these unique Patches.

CAMP Five: Acoustic Percussion Loops. I sampled lots of samples from 17 different acoustic percussion instruments. Each instrument has at least 10 MIDI Grooves I programmed for each instrument. There are 7 different shakers, 3 tambourines, 3 congas (I have performance congas that don’t have a wood body and sound really unique), cowbell, woodblock and a little block of steel that had a tension spring on it. Each one has 20 – 80 samples to give you a TON of variety when you play these instruments. Using these different samples give grooves tons of life!

The SUMMIT!I These patches are complex layers using grooves from all 5 camps! They are actually grouped into 3 sub – categories:

01) Grooves with a clear emphasis on highlighting Acoustic Drums. There can be electronic elements and percussion but the acoustic drum vibe is very strong.

02) Grooves with an emphasis on highlighting Synth Drums being the focus. There are acoustic drums and percussion used in these but the emphasis is clearly on huge synth drum grooves.

03) Grooves using purely acoustic percussion! From a huge ensemble to sparse shakers, this is where percussion goes to hold hands and sing around the campfire.

There are a total of 650 BPM Rhythm Patches in this library!

ALSO, there are 63 General MIDI +1 Octave drum kits in both Acoustic Drums and Synth Drum flavors. 

There are also 237 DRUM MAP Patches for easy plug-and-play to build your own drum kits. Every Patch is key assigned to the correct notes so no mapping is required – just click, click, click and you’ve added a kick, snare and one of 3 sets of hihats to the keyboard to play. Click a few more times to layer additional sounds to make HUGE MONSTER HYBRID DRUM KITS!!! This is seriously one of the fun secret weapons of this library.

AND FINALLY there are 22 DRUM MENU and 18 PERCUSSION MENU Patches that lay out all 2,500+ samples in organized Patches so you can call up and start sequencing your own grooves. Truly addictive once you realize how many samples most of these instruments have (one set of hihats has over 40 samples and many percussion instruments have over 50 samples)
